Justice Tom Clark #86 (1899-1977)
Justice Tom Clark #86 (1899-1977) autographs a chamber card and dates his note “Christmas 1954” (also, from the same source on a personal envelope is the autograph of the 33rd president of the United States and the man who nominated Tom C. Clark to the Supreme Court: Harry S. Truman.) Since the envelope was a first day cover issued the day Truman died, is suspicious, therefore, it has not been considered authentic herein.
Clark wrote the majority decision in Mapp v Ohio which essentially held illegally obtained evidence cannot be used since it was secured in derogation of law. (In that case the cops feigned a bogus search warrant.)
There are 3 photographs of Clark : 1. Where he’s thinking. 2. With a news anchor, and 3 a photo at the White House. Included is an art card by Pugh depicting the American Eagle numbered 22 of 85.
