Chief Justice William Rehnquist, Justice John Paul Stevens
16th Chief Justice William Rehnquist #100 (1924-2005) autographs a photograph as a young newly appointed associate justice. This includes a photograph of the young justice. It should be noted that Rehnquist was first in his class at Stanford. (it is also noted future justice Sandra Day O’Connor. who was the first woman on the court was second in the same class as Justice Rehnquist at Stanford.) (it is rumored that in a letter Rehnquist proposed marriage to O’Connor after they had graduated but the proposal was politely refused by O’Connor as she would marry another classmate.)
Justice John Paul Stevens #101 (1975-2010) autographs an undated chambers card bearing his embossed printed name. There are two photographs of Stevens both in his trademark bow tie, one in his robes, one while holding glasses and papers. (Stevens attended the game where legendary Babe Ruth pointed his bat to center field and promptly hit the ball to that very location.)
